Now remember, a lady rides sidesaddle, NOT astride. Your mother would be in hysterics at the very idea that a daughter of hers would ride a werewolf astride! Why, next you’ll be showing ankle…
morality slogans like “to err is human and forgive and forget” remind us how normal it is to commit mistakes. but mercy isn’t as easy as it sounds. saying you’re sorry is one thing, apologizing is another. it isn’t something magically handed over, it is earned. you think that’s hard? try forgetting. when you forgive someone, you don’t really forget because that’s how you learn from it. it takes courage to ask for forgiveness, but it takes more than that to be merciful.
studies show that most smokers nowadays are getting younger every year.
but how do we stop this? is it higher taxes from the cigarette industry who provide jobs to our tobacco farmers? is it raising the price of the product?
or is it education and awareness for the young ones who are hooked with it?
but the problem remains: most of the kids who smoke are out-of-school youth, and they smoke because it is what they see around them, its looks cool and it helps them forget that they’re hungry but have nothing to eat.
so how can we reach to them and teach the negative effects of smoking?
my answer is we can start by telling them. personally, i don’t smoke because when I was younger I was told not to, but not because I was young then, but because it destroys your lungs and the lungs of those around you. it always depend on the grown-ups on how our future grown-ups are going to be.
